Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you... Thessalonians 3:1-2

Our First Need is Prayer

In several of his letters the Apostle Paul asked the believers to pray for him. In Romans 15:30-32 he urges the brethren to get into the battle with him, praying to God for him.

He asked that they pray for his protection in a dangerous mission, success in that which he was proposing, receptive hearts on the part of the believers, and joy in seeing the mission accomplished, and thus being able to move on to new fields of service.

In II Thessalonians 3:1-2 he requests prayer for him “that the word of the Lord would spread rapidly and be glorified”, and that they would be “delivered from perverse and evil men”.

In Ephesians 6:18-20 he asks that they would pray that the right words would be given to him in order to be able to make known the mystery of the gospel with boldness; that he would speak as he ought to speak. Would you please pray this for us?

In Acts 4:29-31 the Christians unitedly prayed that God would give them confidence in sharing about Christ, and that He would manifest Himself through signs of His presence. This resulted in their boldness in sharing the word and growth in His church.

The power of God to transform lives will not come by “persuasive words of wisdom”; instead, it will come by the proclaiming of Jesus crucified in the power of the Spirit (See I Corinthians 2:1-5). Pray that we would be careful to see this as a reality in our lives and ministry.

Each one of our ministries needs to be covered with prayer. Anything that is done in the power of the flesh will be wood, hay and stubble when we present ourselves before our Lord on that day. Please be a worker together with us and with God in His service.

When we came to Peru we determined to trust the Lord for our needs. At that time we had $55.00 promised to our monthly support..

Financial Need

In the 43 and counting years that we have been in Peru we have not had a salary. When we came to Peru we determined to trust the Lord for our needs. At that time we had $55.00 promised to our monthly support.

God has always provided more than that, and we can give grateful testimony to His great faithfulness. He is our employer and He has never let us down.

For the last 25 years Christian Missions in Many Lands, Inc. has forwarded to us the gifts sent to them designated for our support. They are able to give a tax deductible receipt for these gifts, with the understanding that the funds are to be dispersed for the Lord’s work at their discretion.

Gifts for our support should be sent to:

Christian Missions in Many Lands, Inc.
Post Office Box 13
Spring Lake, New Jersey 07762

Checks can be made out to Christian Missions in Many Lands, Inc. and please include a note stating that this is “for the support of Bob and Noél Rich in Peru”.

We are real thankful for one Sunday School class who is taking on one little guy for the year. I think it is an excellent project for a Sunday School class...

Special Projects

1. At present we are in the midst of building for the Ebenezer Christian School. We will have the first floor completed for the beginning of the 2010 school year, March 8th. We still need funds for the completion of the second and third floors.

2. Many of our poorer church families send their children to Ebenezer Christian School, as do others with lower financial abilities. The directors, Marino and Lupe Catacora, keep the monthly fees as low as possible in order to help the folks with less economic means. We also have several students of single parent homes. Thus it is a real blessing to be able to help these by sponsoring a child to be able to attend with us.

We need to charge some monthly fees in order to pay the teachers. We are thankful for a good team of dedicated teachers who deserve more than we are able to pay them. If anyone would like to sponsor a child, the monthly fees are $60.00 for 11 months of the year.

We are real thankful for one Sunday School class who is taking on one little guy for the year. I think it is an excellent project for a Sunday School class, or any individual or family who would like to help a needy child here as well as the school!

This is a real way you can be involved. We will be happy to send you the name of the child you sponsor, with pictures and updates. Please see the section on Ebenezer Christian School on this website.

Any funds for the school building project or for sponsoring a student should be sent to:

Christian Missions in Many Lands, Inc.
P.O. Box 13
Spring Lake, New Jersey, 07762-0013

Including a note specifying it is for a child at Ebenezer, care of Bob and Noél Rich in Peru. Also, please notify us by email personally telling us how you would like the funds designated. Thank you so much for your interest in this ministry and our work in South America!
