|Hi again!
Can't believe it is November!! Here it is warm, but windy and dusty. It is getting cloudy over our mountains, so we hope there will be rain by the end of the year or early Jan.
Bob returned from a short trip to Pampacolca, and our brother, Pastor Llerena accompanied him, and is staying for a couple weeks to help in the work in Pampacolca and then Chuquibamba. Please help us pray for our workers who are encouraging the believers in the mountain towns. We are thankful for them. After this trip, the van has some more squeaks and rattles. Just before the trip, Bob had some fixed! Oh well, God knows the future of the poor van. Thanks for praying with us on that too.
Oct. 31 was the birthday of Maria, the little orphan girl I mentioned last year. I made her a big heart cake and took it, with her too, to the orphanage where she and her older sister are. I do still pray for them. They are in our school. Maria is 12 and still could be adopted by herself now, as her older brother will be 16 in May. He ran away again from the home where he was put and is hiding out on the streets. Please do help us pray for these needy kids. I'm not sure if the girls will continue in our school next year, but they do claim to know the Lord. Thanks for praying!
Our good news is that construction for the school will begin, D.V. this week! We have a good Christian contractor and are beginning to purchase the building materials. They are expensive, and the dollar is at a low exchange. We are proceeding on faith. The contractor knows we do not have nearly enough to finish, but we are starting and will go as far as we can. We don't have enough for the first floor, but are praying and trusting God for enough to come in to get the first 2 stories done by mid February. This is more economical than to just finish the first story. We have so very much to be thankful for and we feel like our school name: Ebenezer:"this far the Lord has helped us!" We trust Him to keep on helping us! The school is reaching out to many homes, and many children and youth. I am thankful I now teach Christian formation to the 4th graders as well as 5th through 8th graders! What an opportunity! Last week a 10 yr old girl came to the house with her mother after school, wanting counsel for her life with the Lord and her family. Problems abound in the world around us. Family structures are far from God's plan. Please help us pray for all our students and families that they would come to know the Lord! This is the purpose of the school, really! We had a blessed anniversary program here in the church, as we don't have the auditorium yet. It was a good outreach though. Several folks from our town churches and areas around are asking about the school for their children for next year. The school year ends in Dec. Next year starts early March! Some have asked if we can get funds for the building from the school fees. No, as these are needed to pay our teachers! Please do help us pray for the necessary funds to finish the school building, for the Lord's glory! THANKS!
And, THANKS so very much to all who have helped us in all ways in God's work. The radio, Bob's teachings, literature preparation and purchases, our workers, and the school are all part of reaching out to the many needy around us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, remembering all our Lord has done for us, and praying for others to know HIM!
Many blessings and thanks, Noél for us
