Hi dear ones!

MAYbe we will learn to lean more on the Lord this month! We pray so, for all of us. Time goes so very fast! We truly are grateful for all of you and need and appreciate your prayers and generous sharing with us! Thanks, really!

Bob did have the van overhauled and though it was expensive, it is working better. He had a good trip last week to Espinar region with a believer from here. They were able to help the believers there and encourage our worker, Nicolas. he is seeing the Lord work in the high, cold, isolated and poor area of Cayarani. We thank the Lord the believers there are growing. In a couple weeks, D.V., Bob and I plan a few days in the north of Perú, in Chiclayo. Bob will be speaking at a seminary there and we will be visiting with missionary friends and colleagues for a few days. I will miss a couple days of school, but I do want to go with Bob this time. Haven't been up there for years, and I hope to help some, too!

Yes! April, and no fools! March went so very fast! It is still quite warm here. We have had the warmest summer I can remember, and very little rain. But they say we have enough in our reserves for the agriculture. That is good! Our mountains got some snow but with the warm dry sun, it melted off quickly.

Bob did make one quick trip down to Pedregal, on the plains above the Majes Valley. He was able to help some of the believers there who were having some struggles. They still do need prayer though, as do all our believers! Thanks so very much for praying with us!

Hi dear friends,
Yes, March is marching along. The world has suffered many shakeups these days. The earthquake in Chile was horribly strong. It is sad to hear of so much devastation and lives lost. We do pray for the suffering ones. May God have mercy on us and may we turn to Him. We did not feel this quake here in Arequipa, but we do have believers from here who live and work in Santiago. We think they are all right, and we do pray for them. Our Joe stayed with us till Feb. 26. We sure enjoyed his visit and help! I mentioned that in Cotahuasi, Bob was speaking for about 10 hours one day. Well, he was standing for most of the day and a couple weeks later he had a nasty bout with sciatica, pain in his sciatic nerve. He was on pain killers and had to rest a lot and even preached for two weeks sitting down! We are thankful he is better now. Thanks for praying for our health too. God is good to us in this and we are well for the most part!

Hi y'all!

February is a short month and it is going fast! Bob says many important people were born in February. Of course, he is one of them, and Feb. 9 Bob turns 65! A milestone? We have been traveling a good bit of January and the first week of this month too! We thank the Lord for meaningful trips and good things happening here. We have seen two baptisms recently in our main Arequipa church, one being the daughter of one of our believers. This is always a blessing, to see the children of believers following the Lord too. Also we had another wedding, and we do feel it was honoring to the Lord. Then we went to the valley town of Chichas, a long way from Arequipa, but now with a road. It is a very very windy and long dirt road down to this valley, but a road anyway. We used to have to walk 4 hours to get down there from the nearest place. They grow the best avocados in the world there! Before, the people had to bring their products out on mule back, now at least there is a "road". It was good to be there; Bob had a profitable ministry to the believers and I got to do some childrens' classes. Joe enjoyed taking pictures!!

Hi family and friends!

This is a surprise! Our dear Joseph is here with us for a couple months, and we had to get speedy internet here in the house. So Joe helped us get a gmail account started. I am just learning a bit how to use it! Well, it will take a long time for that! So I guess you can send us pictures, but please not too many! Truly, the Lord is good to us and we do thank Him for His blessings. A new year is starting! We had a good Christmas, with a prayer meeting here at the main church, and time of fellowship afterward on Christmas eve.
