Hi again, dear ones,
It is hard to believe we are in August already, and yes, even though it is normally a windy month, these days we have had unusual really strong wind and dust storms along our coastal and valley areas. This had nothing to do with the big Russian earthquake and huge tidal waves, but it does remind me of the prophecies of strange, catastrophic happenings worldwide. Another indication that Jesus, the Christ, is coming soon. We pray all the believers we have worked with plus us will be ready to receive Him and to be with Him forever. The Lord has us here to encourage this goal for as long as He permits.
Thank you for praying for us in this. Bob is now up in Espinar for meetings with the churches in that area. It is winter and very cold up in that altitude. Bob had to get Dr.'s permission to travel. Thankfully testing shows that his defensas are still strong. Amazing really, again, thanks for praying!
Bob has renewed leaders meetings on Monday afternoons. These are mostly with the leaders from our Arequipa church. These local men are doing well and we thank God for them. However we still lack men to lead in the mountain. coastal and valley areas.. Bob is visiting and teaching as he can.
Our youth and co-workers continue with their outreaches in areas around Arequipa and the Colca canyon. They are seeing some fruit from these outreaches, especially in children. We pray for their parents, there is some opposition but mostly they are grateful.
School here had their winter break for Peru´s Independence day July 28, through August 7. So we start again on Thursday. Again, I am really blessed to have the freedom to teach God's Word in our Ebenezer Christian school. I have 30 6th graders for the NT this year. Last year I taught the O.T. with this class in 5th grade, so we are finishing the course, Lord willing, by December. Thanks so much for praying for this. Please also pray for help with school fees for several needy students. We have to charge some fees to be able to pay our teachers, but Ebenezer's fees are low compared to most private schools. Thanks to all who are sharing for this.
Please pray for these dear children and families, in the school and in the areas where the youth are reaching and teaching. Again, thanks so very much for all who partner with us in the Lord's work here.
