Hi again, dear family and friends,
Greetings from Arequipa, Perú. We are so very thankful to be here yet for as long as the Lord permits. And yes, Spring starts in September here. We are thankful we can share God's message for all people from this corner of the world. The Lord is working in and around us.
He is raising up leaders in our churches in and around Arequipa, and Bob is still able to teach and disciple these men. It is a blessing to see them taking responsibility in teaching, counseling, visiting, and helping build the Lord's church.
We have had some baptisms here these last months, and a baptism is scheduled for Sept. 21, of a daughter of long time believers. Our 2 other elders are preparing and mentoring her. This is an answer to prayer, and God is building His church. The new churches in the coastal town of Camaná have a couple of solid leaders helping them.
However, most of our mountain churches are still lacking leaders.Thank you for praying for them. Bob is going to Chivay, in the Colca canyon, now for this weekend to teach leaders from different churches in the canyon.
This time, Bob is not driving. One of the elders of our Ciudad Blanca church here in town is taking him. Bob had his 5th session of radiation therapy this afternoon. These sessions leave him really tired and he felt he should not drive. He is taking 2 boxes of Bibles and other good Christian books for all ages.
Here, our youth and others are still doing their outreaches to some of the neighborhoods around the city, teaching children and youth, and sometimes parents and neighbors. Thanks for praying for all of these outreaches. There are some problems as usual, when the Lord works, our adversary also fights back.
Recently, sadly, there are some who want to cause divisions, going to extremes in emotionalism and totally non biblical legalistic and demonic scandals. We pray our brethren will not be deceived, attracted to these extreme groups by the promise of prosperity and great miracles.
Our Ebenezer Christian school is doing well, now in the last half of the school year. I am blessed to be able to teach the N.T. to the 30 sixth graders. I had this same class for O.T. last year in fifth grade. The class is good, the kids listen and like it. What a blessing to see them grow, Spiritually and physically.
Please continue to pray for the school, for God's work here in lives, for our health, and wisdom from the Lord for the future, one day at a time. And thanks so very much for sharing with us as the Lord leads you. Our support address is:
